OUR HISTORY

What does ``Kamon`` mean?

logo

“Ka” (家) is house or family and “Mon (紋)” means symbol. Kamon is the seal or emblem of a house or a family and this concept spread throughout Japan during the feudal period.

Most of Kamon have a round shape and show stylized designs of flowers, birds, silvers and nature phenomena.

Today there are more than 20,000 different types of Kamon and our Kamon combines that of Mount Fuji (Japan) with the bat (Valencia). Two distant worlds but with close ties and that also shows the perfect balance of the Kamon team.

A fusion between Japanese and Mediterranean cuisine that awakens the sensory tastes of the client. A symbiosis whose essence is transferred to the table. This is the hallmark of Kamon, the Japanese restaurant in Valencia hat breaks with the established.

HIRO SUZUKI

Hiro comes from family of cooks. He currently lives in Valencia since he was 27 years old. He has worked in renowned restaurants in Italy (country where he lived for two years), Japan and Valencia. Now he has his own. “I feel very integrated, Valencia is like my second land, I love the lifestyle and its people,” he says with a smile.

In conclusion, Hiro makes with his kitchen a tribute to the places where he has lived. A nod to Italy and Spain with the incorporation of typical elements of the earth. All this with the base and the respect of the cuisine of his native Japan. A perfect fusion that elevates the client and transports him to the very places.
